RS Thomas, the Bright Field
This guided, therapeutic writing workshop on the theme of 'Hidden Treasure' will inspire creativity and build positive connections after a challenging year. Tickets are £8.
Our third Writing for Wellbeing workshop, from Leonie Martin, will be online (Zoom). For those who prefer to attend in person, it will be repeated at Whirlow on 6 November. The focus is on finding the Hidden Treasure, or the 'Pearls of Great Price' in our lives. We will remember and be grateful together. Leonie will use a series of creative prompts to encourage you to unlock your imagination and put pen to paper.
Working within a safe and respectful space, writing can be therapeutic and open the door to new voices, ideas and points of view that widen and deepen our own perspective. It can offer a sense of achievement and participation. Sharing written responses within the workshop will be welcome and always optional.
The emphasis will be relaxing and taking part, rather than producing a polished piece of writing. No previous knowledge or experience of creative writing is needed; writers aged 18 years and above, of all levels of experience, are welcome.
You will need a device with internet access to take part and your preferred writing materials. Handouts might be provided via email for download/printing. After you have booked, an email with joining instructions will be sent to you before the date of the workshop.
Imaginative writing can sometimes bring emotions to the surface. Please consider the support you have around you and who you can call or message if you feel you need support following your writing.
