About the Activity
Gather with Anna Tennant for a relaxing day using fabric, felt & beads to create your own little garden bee.
This workshop is about slow conversations & good company; tea, biscuits & the joy of making with your hands. There is no chasing perfection here & no pressure to produce something polished. We will be using our hands & making for the joy of making. Wonky bees are very welcome.
The workshop runs 10:30–14:30 with a half-hour break for lunch. There are lovely tearooms & a local shop close by, or bring a packed lunch. Tea, coffee & biscuits are provided throughout the day. Please advise of any allergies or dietary requirements when booking.
A basic level of sewing is recommended; if you can thread a needle & stitch, that is all you need. No fancy stitches or speed required.
Part of Whitby Gathers, a free summer arts programme across Whitby & surrounding villages, supported by Arts Council England. Spaces are limited.
This workshop is open to participants aged 16 & over.
What to Bring
A packed lunch if you'd like one; there are also tearooms & a local shop nearby. All materials are provided.
About the Facilitator
Anna Tennant is a textile artist & workshop facilitator whose practice spans mindful mending, felt-making, natural materials & slow craft. She creates workshop spaces that are warm, unhurried & genuinely restorative; where the emphasis is on the quality of attention rather than the quantity of output.
