Children's Crafts: Making Lanterns & Decor @ Green Lane Centre

About the Activity

Gather with Rona Rylands at Green Lane Centre for three Tuesday mornings of tactile art making; decorating, building and crafting across a range of hands-on projects.

Each session invites children and their parents or caregivers to make together; exploring colour, texture and form through materials that are made to be handled, layered and played with. The lanterns children create across the sessions will go on to be displayed at the Whitby Gathers closing night performance with Suntou Susso and at Whitby Musicport Festival; small, handmade things that carry on beyond the morning that made them. Kids will also make things that they can take home. 

Come to one session or all three. A genuinely lovely way to spend a Tuesday morning in the summer holidays.

Clothes you don't mind getting creative in. All materials are provided.

About the Facilitator

Rona Rylands is an artist and creative facilitator who works extensively with children and community groups across North Yorkshire. Her workshops focus on playful visual experimentation and collaborative making, encouraging young participants to explore creativity through hands-on materials.
