About the Activity
Gather at The Old Reading Room, Goathland for a full day of loom weaving with instructor & craft practitioner Penny Highmoor.
Working across floor, table, hand & peg looms, participants explore the basics of weaving; learning to warp the loom, select colours & textures, & build a woven piece stitch by stitch. The session moves at a relaxed pace & no experience is needed. Participants leave with a completed piece of their own making.
Set inside a beautiful historic building in the heart of Goathland, this is a chance to slow down, work with your hands & make something lasting. Drop in for part of the day or stay for the full session.
Part of Whitby Gathers, a free summer arts programme across Whitby & surrounding villages, supported by Arts Council England.
What to Bring
Nothing is required; all materials & tools are provided, but if you have yarn you'd like to work with please do bring it along.
