WHITCHURCH CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL

Whitchurch Children’s Festival is a small, safe and friendly, weekend-long festival in Whitchurch, Hampshire, designed especially for families with pre-school and primary-school age children.

All inspired by the beautiful landscape surrounding Whitchurch: the River Test, Mill Trail and North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

The location of the festival is a watermeadow belonging to the historic Fulling Mill which lies alongside the crystal-clear waters of the River Test.

A weekend of all-inclusive activities for children

Funded by Arts Council England, we have have a commitment to working with high-quality arts providers. Children are encouraged to achieve an (optional-purchase) Arts Council England ‘Discover’ certificate of achievement while they are at the festival.

The festival’s family-focused programme is packed with an exciting range of activities including willow weaving, stencilling, art mural painting, pottery, jewellery making, wood whittling, dance, storytelling of Hampshire local folklore, Storytime and Rhymetime, music-making sessions: steel pans, taiko drums (and much, much more!)

After more than a year of lockdown, it’s a much-needed opportunity to strengthen children’s emotional and social wellbeing, try out new and exciting experiences, as well as spend time with family and friends.

Affordable weekend family ticket pricing

We know days out can be expensive for families, so we have worked hard to keep ticket prices affordable. A family ticket (2 adults and up to 3 children) costs £15 for the entire weekend. Once inside the watermeadow, all children’s activities are included in the ticket price. 

The vast majority of actvities at Whitchurch Children's Festival are drop in. You just need to check in the festival programme when and where they are happening, then show up and join in.

** Please note that ALL workshop activities are only available for primary school age children.  There are also creative activities specifically for younger, pre-school children**

** Food and drink available. Bring a picnic blanket **

** No dogs - other than Guide dogs and Assistance dogs **
