The practices of Tai Chi and Qigong are deeply rooted in traditional Taoist philosophy. Qigong and Tai Chi practices are distinctive, yet complementary healing methods. In this weekend long workshop, Master Wu will focus on aspects of both Tai Chi and QiGong training in order to broaden participants understanding of these ancient arts. All experience levels and practitioners of any style can benefit from this workshop.
Focus on intention adds an important layer to your Tai Chi practice. The posture names of Tai Chi have deep meaning and rich symbolism. Visualization and expression of this intention can assist participants in achieving the deeper understanding and benefits of Tai Chi. In this workshop, Master Wu will emphasize the origins & intention of Tai Chi postures and their names.
From ancient China until today, Qigong exercises have been important healing and rejuvenating exercises. The practice of Qigong is a powerful self-empowerment tool to attain greater personal well-being and health. Acupuncture points or qi cavities are locations on the surface of the skin which connect to the energy channels or vessels. This workshop will focus on and identify many of the acupuncture points activated and their significance to Qi circulation in the Therapeutic Qigong postures.
