Charity begins at home. Prayer & Action is a week-long mission experience that serves those in need in our own backyards. Serving the poor does not always require a ticket overseas to a third world country, and poverty is both a spiritual and material experience. Young people are made for mission, and that mission of God's charity begins right here.   

Prayer and Action lasts five days, with students & chaperones arriving Sunday evening, and staying until Friday morning. During the week, high school students & their chaperones will paint, clean, do yard work and perform other meaningful tasks for the poor, handicapped, and the elderly. Every parish within the diocese is invited to bring high school students and adults to participate in the program. Prayer and Action also requires that for every eight youth, one adult leader also attend. Adult leaders are able to share the same experience as the youth and are asked to be positive role models throughout the week’s activities, helping the teens become the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. Due to the role of our adult chaperones, we ask that each adult arrives with the students on Sunday, participates throughout the entire week, and returns with their students on Friday. 

If a Parish chooses to pay for a portion of a high school student or chaperone's fee, a promo code is given to the Parish to distribute to the youth and chaperones attending and then the parish is billed for the final amount. 

Individuals may also get a ticket if their parish is not handling registration, however, an additional chaperone ticket is also required to ensure enough adults attend.

A packing list can be found on the website. A completed medical consent form for every participant and every chaperone is also required. All participants and chaperones must also complete a Code of Conduct. Click on the links to find the necessary forms.
