Wild Arts' Messiah at Layer Marney Tower

2025 performance

We will be performing the Messiah at Layer Marney Tower at 4pm on Sunday 14th December 2025.  Tickets will be on sale to Friends of Wild Arts from 15th December 2024, and to the general public on 1st March 2025. 

Our Friends, Patrons and Supporters are the lifeblood of the charity, underpinning everything we do. We would love it if you would like to become a Friend and receive priority booking for the Messiah, the Essex Summer Opera Festival at Layer Marney Tower, the Roman River Festival and many of our performances nation-wide. Because of the winter weather, we can only park on the hard gravel. There is only room for 60 cars, so we would be very grateful if you could please car-share if at all possible. We are looking into alternative forms of transport - a minibus from Colchester and Witham maybe, and we will be in touch with ticket-holders. Meanwhile, there is a question about where you will be driving from when you buy your ticket. We hugely appreciate your help in this matter - we don't want any cars bogged down in the meadow! 

The opera barn, picnic lawn and loos at Layer Marney Tower are fully accessible. The seating in the opera barn is flexible and we can accommodate wheelchairs easily. We will reserve parking places for blue badge holders by the entrance through to the opera courtyard. We would like to share the music and drama in real life with you all, and so we don't allow any photographs or filming on phones in any of our performances. It is not possible for the performers to concentrate and communicate to a live audience while someone is filming, and it is also distracting for fellow audience members.
