An afternoon of opera at the Frinton-on-Sea Cricket Club
Critically acclaimed new opera company Wild Arts (★★★★★ Opera Now, ★★★★ The Guardian) are delighted to be bringing their production of Mozart’s The Magic Flute to Frinton-on-Sea.
The opera will be a fully staged in costume and sung in English by a cast of exceptional singers, with a chamber orchestra of 10 top musicians. The production is directed by James Hurley, designed by Sophie Lincoln and conducted by Orlando Jopling.
The performance will take place at the Frinton-on-Sea Cricket Club, in a lovely and intimate space with grass embankments and perfect acoustics for live music. Stage and audience will be under cover of a large marquee.
You are welcome to arrive from 1pm to set up your picnic lunch on the cricket outfield, and bring rugs, chairs, tables, friends, and whatever else you would like. You will be ushered into the marquee for the performance at 3pm, and there'll be 30-minute interval for pudding before Act II. You are then welcome to stay after the show to enjoy a drink with the cast, orchestra and the Wild Arts company.
A bar will be available, offering both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.

In a dream-like world, the (nearly) heroic Tamino falls in love with Pamina, the kidnapped daughter of the mysterious Queen of the Night. He must go on a quest with Papageno the hapless bird-catcher as partner, to rescue her, but who is good, and who to trust, turns out to be trickier than he imagined.
