An evening of opera at Claremont Landscape Garden
Sun 21 Jul 2024 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Claremont Landscape Garden, KT10 9JG
Description
Wild Arts returns for a second year to Claremont Landscape Garden with a new opera show.
Our opera evening is a love story built around favourite opera arias, duets and ensembles, sung by the stars of tomorrow and played by a string quintet of top chamber musicians.
Arrive from 5pm to enjoy the garden and set up your picnic. You are welcome to bring tables, chairs, picnic blankets, candelabras and whatever else you'd like.
The performance will start at 6pm with a 20-minute interval, and finish around 8pm.
Wild Arts is a new company that brings world-class opera to locations often overlooked by others. Additionally, it nurtures young talent and runs an enriching programme for primary schools. More details on wildarts.org.uk
Let me tell you that Wild Arts’ opera evenings are of a breathtakingly high, ROH-level musical standard – a gorgeous quintet of musicians and a most cunning choice of excerpts, mischievously well acted. I’d follow them anywhere. Libby Purves
