Summer opera show at Belvoir Castle
Tue 16 Jul 2024 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Belvoir Castle, NG32 1PA
Description
Wild Arts returns to Belvoir Castle with its wonderful Summer Opera Evening.
Wild Arts’ Opera Evenings consist of 75 minutes of musical favourites - from Handel, Mozart and Rossini, to Gershwin, Rodgers and Tom Lehrer. These pieces are woven together into a narrative, and performed by four world-class singers and a string quintet at beautiful venues across the country.
You are welcome to arrive from 5pm to set up a picnic-spot on the lawn (food and drink will be available on site).
Alternatively, a VIP ticket will take you through for canapés and prosecco in the Aviary Tea Room from 5.30pm, and will include another glass of prosecco and a light finger buffet in the interval.
The performance will start at 6.30pm and there will be 30-minute interval around 7.10pm. The show will finish around 8.15pm.
Wild Arts’ opera evenings are of a breathtakingly high, ROH-level musical standard – a gorgeous quintet of musicians and a most cunning choice of excerpts, mischievously well acted. I’d follow them anywhere. Libby Purves
