Our Opera Evening is a love story built around favourite opera arias, duets and ensembles, sung by the stars of tomorrow and played by a string quintet of top chamber musicians.

The musicians were all superb. With perfect balance and tone they really brought the works alive. Clean and precise, every detail of the composers intentions was revealed anew; like having an intimate snapshot of their original sketches fleshed out.
We look forward to welcoming you to a beautiful evening of opera. Please book early as tickets will be strictly limited.

What a triumph! The audience were truly enraptured from start to finish. Lindy O’Hare, Thorington Theatre
Hall
Hall Estate is located in the heart of North Devon in Bishop's Tawton, 4 miles south east of Barnstaple on a south facing slope with splendid views overlooking the River Taw and surrounded by about 3,000 acres of land.
The present Grade II listed neo-Jacobean house was built between 1844 and 1847 for Robert Chichester by Philip C.Hardwick. Hall offers a series of grand reception and family rooms with an imposing staircase hall which forms the centre of the house. At the far end of the building lies a grand Gothic Hall with oak tie-beam roof , stencilled windows, stained glass and a minstrels' gallery. Outside there are various estate buildings including a medieval barn and a 17th century stable block.

An unalloyed delight to hear such musical perfection in one short show. And the string quintet presentation was so brilliant I now want to hear all my favourite operas performed that way.
The performance is part of our summer programme which includes Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin and Donizetti's The Elixir of Love.
