Wild Child Play Labs Canyon Heights

Wild Child Play Labs is coming to Canyon Heights this fall! Running for 8 weeks for students in Grades 2–6, Wild Child is a land-based outdoor program designed to give kids back authentic, child-led game-play and activity. Led by trained Play Guides who intentionally shape the outdoor environment, sessions give kids the freedom to invent their own games, negotiate rules, solve challenges, and build genuine cross-grade friendships—mentored and supported by Grade 7 Junior Play Guides.

This inaugural season will runs alongside an observational research study supported by the Wild Child Foundation and guided by a cross-disciplinary advisory board including leaders in psychology, community, and sports, helping us document how child-led play strengthens resilience, self-regulation, and peer connection.

Strict Privacy Commitment: Wild Child maintains a strict zero-social-media policy—no children are ever photographed or filmed for social media.

The program is fully funded by the Wild Child Foundation and offered at no cost to families.

Program Logistics (When, Where, How)

·Eligible Grades: Grades 2 through 6 (Grade 7s participate as Junior Play Guides)

·Dates: Tuesday, September 29 – Thursday, November 19 (8 Weeks)

·Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM

·Location: Canyon Heights Elementary School Grounds & Outdoor Space

·Cost: Free (Funded by the Wild Child Foundation)

·Parent Info Session: Wednesday, September 16 at 3:10 PM in the School Library

·Registration Launch: Wednesday, September 16 at 6:00 PM (Directly following the info session)

·Capacity: Registration is capped with limited spots per grade (Grades 2–6) to preserve balanced group dynamics. First-come, first-served.
