Women’s Woodworking Day Retreat – A Creative Escape in the Peak District
Join us for a relaxing and creative edition of our Wild Women Brunch Club, set in a gorgeous yurt nestled in the heart of the Peak District countryside. This unique one-day experience is designed for women who want to connect with nature, learn traditional woodworking skills, and enjoy a mindful, creative escape.

We'll start the day with a walk through an ancient woodland in The Peak District, identifying the trees around us and discussing which species are best for using in woodworking projects and how to sustainably harvest wood to work with. Then, under the guidance of an experienced tutor, you'll learn essential whittling and knife skills, gaining confidence in carving wood safely and effectively. Throughout the day, you’ll craft your own wooden mushroom pendant or keyring and a hand-carved butter knife, creating beautiful, functional pieces to take home.

Surrounded by nature, our cosy yurt provides the perfect setting to unwind, focus, and enjoy the process of working with your hands. A delicious vegetarian brunch will be provided, along with tea and coffee to keep you refreshed throughout the day.
Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, this retreat offers a wonderful opportunity to slow down, immerse yourself in nature, and learn a new skill in a supportive and welcoming environment.
