Escape to the Yorkshire Dales for a magical winter weekend of adventure, creativity, good food and festive fun.

Join Wilder Horizons CIC for a cosy, women-only weekend at beautiful Keld Bunkbarn, surrounded by the winter landscapes of North Yorkshire. This is your chance to step away from the Christmas rush, get outdoors, meet like-minded women and enjoy a slower, more adventurous way to celebrate the festive season.

Your weekend includes

🥾 Winter hiking
Wrap up warm and head out into the stunning winter landscape for a guided adventure through the Yorkshire Dales.

🌿 Foraged festive wreath making
Gather inspiration from the natural world and create your own beautiful festive wreath using foraged and seasonal materials.

🍷 Foraged mulled wine
Get cosy and festive as we brew warming mulled wine with foraged ingredients — a delicious taste of winter in the Dales.

🪵 Wood-carved Christmas ornaments
Slow down and get creative with a hands-on wood carving session, making your own unique decorations to take home.

🍲 Delicious vegetarian meals
All meals from Saturday breakfast through to Sunday breakfast are included in the weekend price. Everything will be vegetarian, seasonal and hearty — perfect fuel for a winter adventure.

♨️ Hot tub time
After adventures in the cold, there'll be plenty of opportunity to relax, unwind and warm up in the hot tub.

Cosy accommodation

You'll stay at Keld Bunkbarn, a welcoming and rustic bunk barn in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.

Accommodation is in shared rooms with bunk beds, making it a great opportunity to meet and get to know the other women joining the weekend.

Prefer a little more privacy? One private room is available for an additional £50, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The weekend

Friday 11 December — from 7pm
Arrive at Keld Bunkbarn, settle into your accommodation and meet your fellow adventurers before easing into the weekend.

Saturday 12 December
Wake up to a delicious vegetarian breakfast before heading out into the winter landscape. Enjoy a day of adventure and festive creativity, with hiking, foraging, wreath making, mulled wine and wood carving — plus time to relax and enjoy the hot tub. All Saturday meals are included.

Sunday 13 December — until 10:30am
Enjoy a final vegetarian breakfast before we say goodbye and head home with muddy boots, new skills, festive creations and plenty of memories.

Who is it for?

This weekend is for women who want to get outdoors, try something new, connect with other women and enjoy a properly adventurous Christmas break.

You don't need to be an expert outdoorswoman or an experienced crafter — just bring a sense of adventure, curiosity and enthusiasm for getting stuck in.
