Kids Private Art Foundations

4-Week Private Art Course | Ages 7–11

Does your child love to draw, paint, and create? Or maybe they're curious about art but aren't sure where to start?

Our Kids Private Art Foundations course is designed to give young artists a chance to slow down, explore, and build real art skills in a fun and encouraging one-on-one setting at Wildflower Studio + Wonderland.

Over four private lessons, we'll explore different elements of art, creative techniques, and famous artists while giving your child plenty of opportunities to experiment and make artwork that feels like their own.

This isn't about making the "perfect" picture. It's about learning how art works, trying new things, building confidence, and discovering what they enjoy creating.

What We'll Explore

Lesson 1 — Drawing & Value | Vincent van Gogh
We'll start with the foundations of drawing by exploring line, shape, form, light, and shadow. We'll look at Van Gogh's expressive drawings and learn how simple lines and marks can create movement, texture, and personality.

Lesson 2 — Color & Watercolor | Claude Monet
We'll dive into the world of color! Students will explore color mixing, warm and cool colors, and basic watercolor techniques while taking inspiration from Monet's beautiful use of color and light.

Lesson 3 — Pattern & Illustration | Henri Matisse
We'll explore bold shapes, patterns, color, and composition inspired by Matisse. Students will experiment with creating artwork using shapes and patterns in their own unique way.

Lesson 4 — My Own Masterpiece | Inspired by YOU
For our final lesson, your child gets to take the lead! They'll choose an idea or subject they're excited about and use the skills they've learned to create an original piece of artwork with guidance along the way.
