Teen Private Art Foundations

4-Week Private Art Course | Ages 12–17

Looking for a creative outlet for your teen? Maybe they're already constantly drawing in the margins of their notebooks, creating characters, painting, or experimenting with art at home. Or maybe they love the idea of art but haven't had the opportunity to learn the fundamentals.

Teen Private Art Foundations is a four-week private course designed to help young artists develop real art skills while exploring different mediums, famous artists, and their own creative style.

Because these are private lessons, we can slow down when something needs more practice, move ahead when they're ready, and spend more time exploring the areas they're most interested in.

The goal isn't simply to create four projects. It's to help teens understand how artists create, build confidence in their abilities, and give them tools they can continue using in their own artwork.

🎨 What We'll Explore

Lesson 1 — Drawing & Value | Leonardo da Vinci
We'll begin with drawing fundamentals including observation, proportion, form, light, shadow, and value. We'll look at Leonardo's approach to observation and learn how artists use value to create dimension and realistic form.

Lesson 2 — Color & Watercolor | Georgia O'Keeffe
We'll explore color relationships, color mixing, composition, and watercolor techniques while taking inspiration from O'Keeffe's bold use of color, nature, and simplified forms.

Lesson 3 — Ink & Illustration | Aubrey Beardsley
We'll experiment with line weight, contrast, hatching, texture, and expressive mark-making while exploring the world of ink illustration.

Lesson 4 — Personal Project | Find Your Style
This is where your teen gets to take everything they've learned and make it their own. They'll develop an original artwork based on their own interests, with guidance from idea development through the finished piece.
