Join us to learn about wildlife in the lovely Rise 61 Community Garden, have a go at lighting a campfire without matches and enjoy campfire cooked popcorn at this free ticketed event for families and adults who live in Bemerton Heath.
We’ll start the session with a walk and talk about local wildlife, including trees and birds. We may find fallen leaves, and there are many other parts of the tree which help us identify them, including buds, flowers, fruits (including seeds and nuts), bark and the shape of the tree. Birds are easier to see as the trees become bare, and we’ll share some top tips for birdwatching.
In the second half of the session we’ll teach you how to light a campfire without matches. The key is to be prepared, focused and patient. Then we’ll build the fire up and cook popcorn on it. Salty or sweet (or both) - it’s up to you!
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
