Learn to interpret the landscape using environmental cues such as the sun, stars, plants, and terrain, while gaining confidence in reading topographical maps and mastering compass bearings. Guided by an experienced instructor, this hands-on course offers practical exercises and immersive scenarios to enhance your natural awareness and ensure you only get lost if you really want too.

Whether you're hiking remote trails, exploring gentle countryside, or simply seeking to reconnect with nature’s rhythms, this course equips you with the tools and insights to navigate with confidence and skill. Perfect for beginners and those seeking to refresh their knowledge.

Timing: 10-4pm

Venue: Lower Meadow, Newbridge

What to bring: Suitable outdoor clothing, packed lunch, water bottle, day bag, sturdy footwear and notepad.

NB the day will include a short walk on varied and possibly rough terrain. Please let us know well in advance if you have any concerns about this aspect of the course.
