Crafting with Natural Materials Weekend
Crafting with Natural Materials Weekend 20th – 22nd November 2026
As the days grow shorter and cooler, it is a time of slowing down and drawing inwards: enjoying autumnal walks, crafting around a blazing fire and the company of other women.
Join the Wild Women for the last camp of 2026 on a relaxing weekend in Cushendun. We will learn how to make cordage from natural fibres and weave a rustic basket from hedgerow plants. Using abundant local plants such as nettles and ivy is simple and sustainable. These readily available plants are easily found and make excellent eco-friendly craft resources. The crafting activities are entirely optional, so you are welcome to join in as much or as little as you like.
We will be staying in the beautiful Glendun Lodge in Cushendun, just 5 minutes’ walk through ancient woodland to the beach. This lovely old Georgian manor is a Wild Women favourite, with a double room for single use, twin rooms, single beds in a dorm, indoor camping in the dorm, and outdoor camping in a van or tent. All food is provided for the delicious and wholesome meals that we prepare and cook together.
Depending on the weather, on Sunday we will explore further afield for an invigorating autumn walk, or if hiking is not your thing, you can head to Mary McBrides pub in Cushendun for a delicious Sunday lunch by the fire.
Whatever you choose to do, you will love the camaraderie and craic of a Wild Women weekend in the gorgeous village of Cushendun.
