The future of school support and improvement from a perspective of leadership and innovation
Les Walton CBE is a nationally recognised education leader, adviser and innovator. Founder of the Association of Education Advisers, he has held senior leadership roles across schools, colleges and government agencies, and continues to champion school improvement, leadership and educational excellence. Les’s career has seen him directly involved in almost all the significant changes in the education landscape stretching back to the 1960s.
In this thought-provoking session, Les will explore how school improvement is entering a new phase, shaped by evolving pressures and expectations across education. Drawing on decades of experience, he will examine how schools can build sustainable capacity for continuous learning, adaptation and improvement, creating systems that support long-term success and reduce reliance on external intervention.

Jamie is the Associate Performance Officer for XP Trust’s Executive Team and also a former principal and senior leader in several North of England schools. Jamie will draw on his extensive knowledge and first-hand leadership experience to explore school improvement and the support needed to sustain it, offering valuable insights from the perspective of a senior leader.

Stephen is the Principal at Healing Academy, whose approach is to learn, improve, share and collaborate. Stephen will share his insights about the importance of maintaining vision, values and culture as school improvement enters a new era.
