Five enthusiasts from the Williamson area founded the Williamson Flying Club in 1956.

The Williamson-Sodus airport was originally a farm and the first 1800-foot runway was seeded in July 1957.

Currently, the Club has more than one hundred fifty active members and operates a fleet of four airplanes
