Building Reflexivity 2: Reflexivity in Action

Following Building Reflexivity 1, participants described the day as:

“A really interesting, thought-provoking, connecting and practice-enhancing day.”
“I hope there is a part 2…”

Developing reflexivity is a journey, and Building Reflexivity 2 offers the opportunity to go further — this time with all participants bringing a shared grounding from the first workshop.

Reflexivity in the Moment

Our focus will be on reflection-in-action: developing the ability to remain fully engaged with your client while also noticing and monitoring your own internal process in real time.

This is difficult to cultivate because it requires a form of dual attention — simultaneously staying present to the client while maintaining awareness of what is happening within ourselves. Yet when developed, this capacity deepens reflexivity, strengthens the working alliance, and enhances client outcomes.

In Building Reflexivity 2, you will:

• Consolidate and deepen the learning from Building Reflexivity 1
• Further develop your internal supervisor in action through live exercises, practising how to notice and work with your own process during coaching and supervision conversations, supported by structured peer feedback
• Refine pre- and post-session practices that help sustain and carry reflexive capacity into your day-to-day work

New to Building Reflexivity?

Building Reflexivity 2 is designed for previous participants in Building Reflexivity 1.

If you are new to the programme, you can now attend both days (9–10 November 26) as a connected developmental pathway, moving from foundations into reflexivity in action.. → View the two-day pathway
