🎻The Only Night of the Winchfield Proms - A Spectacular Experience

Experience all the colour, pageantry and celebration of a Last Night of the Proms–style concert as Docklands Sinfonia, conducted by David Gibson bring orchestral favourites to the Winchfield Festival.

This uplifting, family-friendly evening blends much-loved classical works with rousing, patriotic and popular classics, performed with energy, warmth and a strong sense of occasion. Expect stirring melodies, joyful moments and plenty of opportunities to join in as the atmosphere builds towards a thrilling finale.

A perfect way to come together as a community — this promises to be one of the most memorable nights of the festival.


✨ The Music

Performed by the outstanding Docklands Sinfonia, which is conducted by David Gibson, this is a night of drama, virtuosity, and pure celebration.

First Half – Orchestral Showpieces

  • Rossini – William Tell Overture 

  • Bruch – Violin Concerto No.1

The evening opens with Rossini’s William Tell Overture - a thrilling musical journey from a serene Alpine dawn to a dramatic storm, building to its famous, exhilarating finale.

This is followed by Bruch’s Violin Concerto No.1, one of the most loved works in the repertoire, combining soaring melodies with dazzling virtuosity, particularly in its unforgettable slow movement.

Second Half - Proms Favourites

  • Tchaikovsky –1812 Overture

  • Henry Wood - Fantasia on British Sea Songs

  • Elgar – Pomp & Circumstance No.1

  • Parry – Jerusalem

  • The National Anthem
