Stargazing with Wil at Alston Observatory - Monday 8th December 2025 Early Session 6pm to 7.45pm/Late 8.15pm to 10pm

Mon 8 Dec 2025 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM Alston Observatory, PR3 3BP

I am delighted to announce I will be hosting stargazing events at the impressive Alston Observatory near Preston.

Their PlaneWave Instrument (PWI) CDK700 – a 0.7m/27.5” a state-of-the-art computerised robotic telescope, named the Moses Holden Telescope (MHT) is one of the largest modern robotic telescopes in the UK.

During this special event, I will be delivering a talk about the night sky followed by a tour of the historic observatory and telescopes.

If visibility is good you will enjoy amazing views of incredible objects using the state of the art instruments including the Holden Telescope. If cloudy we will use their planetarium for a virtual night sky tour.

Due to limited space, numbers are strictly limited, so booking is required.

Tickets are £25 for adults and £15 for those under 16.

Visits will be scheduled into two groups; 6:00pm-7:45pm and 8:15pm-10:00PM, this will allow younger visitors to attend the earlier session. Each session is limited to 30 visitors. Please check you are in the correct session when booking.
