Winter Afro-Latin Festival (W.A.L.F.) 6th Edition

WALF welcomes you to the 6th Edition of our Winter Afro-Latin Festival. Join us as we celebrate with a collaboration of SALSA, BACHATA, KIZOMBA, URBANKIZ & AFRO-HOUSE and many more with an incredible line up of Teachers and DJ’s to keep you entertained all throughout the weekend. We will have both International and local teachers, all there to share their expertise with you. We will have 4 dance floors available and a late licence to allow you to keep dancing through the night!

This year we are proud to be welcoming you to the stunning ROYAL HOTEL, WESTON-SUPER-MARE. This beautiful hotel has a sea view and opposite the famous Grant Pier - so the whole festival is all in one place!

Our aims and objectives are simple – we want to promote multi-cultural music and dance programmes in the Southwest, and to connect with all of our local communities. We run weekly Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba/Urbankiz classes in a number of locations around Devon and have recently added Zouk and Rueda classes too. The jewel in our crown is our annual international dance festival; the Winter Afro-Latin Festival (affectionately known as WALF). Now in our 6th year, we would love to invite you to join us to share in all of the passion; the dancing; the colour; the music; and most importantly the FUN of our festival.

About Weston-Super-Mare: Weston-Super-Mare is a seaside resort town in North Somerset.

Travelling to Weston-Super-Mare: Travelling to WSM being easily accessible by road, rail or air. There are easy links from the M5 and M4 corridor, a central train station and also situated just 15 miles from Bristol Airport.

By Car: Choose the M5 for links from Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff and all points along the M4 corridor to London. The A30/A303/M3/M5 offers an alternative high quality scenic road from London and the South East. Just off at Junction 21 from South and Junction 20 from North.

By Bus & Coach: Buses from Bristol to Weston Super Mare. Buses form Bristol Airport to Weston Super Mare. National Express operates services to WSM from most towns and cities throughout the UK.

Bristol Airport is at North East of WSM. 

The International airport offers daily all year round services to and form Alicante, Amsterdam, Belfast, Cork, Edinburgh, Florence, Milan, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey, Madrid, Newcastle, Paris and many more. 

By Train: The train station is less than 1 mile away. Companies operating in the area are Great Western Railway, Cross Country and South West Trains.

About The Royal Hotel: The Royal Hotel is a traditional, family owned seafront hotel in Weston-super-Mare. Originally opened in 1810, the hotel is an elegant Georgian building that retains its original grandeur and charm. The hotel boasts extensive lawns and fantastic sea views of the Welsh coast and Weston Bay.

The hotel offers a dinner, bed and breakfast package only. Due to the limited number of rooms available, the onsite accommodation is limited to those staying for three nights.

Double rooms: £160 per room per night. This broken down means it is £60 for the breakfast and dinner for two people (£30 per person) and £100 for the room (£50 per person). Total per person is £80.

Single occupancy is £120 per room per night i.e. £30 for the breakfast and dinner for one person and £90 for the room.

Twin rooms: £160 per room per night. This broken down means it is £60 for the breakfast and dinner for two people (£30 per person) and £100 for the room (£50 per person). Total per person is £80.

Single occupancy is £120 per room per night i.e. £30 for the breakfast and dinner for one person and £90 for the room.

Single rooms: £90 per person per night. This broken down means it is £30 for the breakfast and dinner for one person and £60 for the room.

King rooms: £160 per room per night. This broken down means it is £60 for the breakfast and dinner for two people (£30 per person) and £100 for the room (£50 per person). Total per person is £80.

Single occupancy is £120 per room per night i.e. £30 for the breakfast and dinner for one person and £90 for the room.

Family rooms that sleep 4 with a double bed and bunk beds: :£310 per room per night. This broken down means it is £120 for the breakfast and dinner for four people (£30 per person) and £190 for the room (£47.50 each). The total per person is £77.50. *The £250 is based on 2 adults and 2 children. Therefore, there is a £60 supplement added for 2 adults instead totalling £310.

You can purchase a ticket for £20 for dinner to join everyone and eat together if you are not staying in the hotel. This assists in making you feel part of the family and gives you the opportunity to join in with the fun, giggles and chats with friends.
