Young musicians of the LSA perform music by baroque masters, in a programme of Italian fire and French flair

EMAE's Liverpool String Academy joins forces with Thelma Handy, festival Artistic Director and leader of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, for an exquisite performance of music from leading Baroque composers, including Vivaldi, Corelli, Lully, Handel and a rare performance of Schreivogel’s concerto for solo violin and strings, edited specially for EMAE by Professor Michael Talbot.

Early Music as Education is a registered charity based in Liverpool that promotes the cultural, social and economic value of early music through regular educational, recreational and scholarly activities. They gather young people from different backgrounds in weekly tutorials, classes and seminars, providing a whole range of learning experiences at no cost. Established in July 2017 with an emphasis on high level performance, the Liverpool String Academy Orchestra is EMAE’s flagship ensemble, made up of members from our Academy, LSA alumni and working professionals from across Merseyside. EMAE is delighted to be an Affiliate Organisation of the Tung Auditorium for 2025-2027.
