This Spring, we’re all about planting seeds and discovering our pollinators. This workshop takes place at New Ferry Butterfly Park, 10am - 11.30am. Please make sure to book a ticket for each person that will attend this workshop, for both children and adults. Only people with a booked ticket can attend, and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
We start of with a guided walk around the nature reserve, where we will look out for pollinators and other minibeasts, look at the flowers and the different habitats around the reserve. There is so much to discover, there have been 27 different species of butterfly recorded within the reserve, of which 18 are breeding on site. Let's see how many of them we can find on the day!
After our guided tour, we will do some pond dipping, where we will discover what wildlife uses a pond, and how important water is for wildlife.
We will end the morning with a craft activity, creating paper butterflies, which you can take home!
There is no undercover provision for bad weather, so dress appropriately for the weather. If the weather is really bad we might have to contact you in case we need to cancel. There is a composting toilet available at the reserve. There is no parking inside the reserve, but they do have bicycle racks. Access is from Howell Road, Bebington, Wirral, CH62 5BJ. The reserve is adjacent to Bebington Station car park, but this is not available to park to access the reserve. Visitors could park on Greendale Road and walk up to the reserve.
