Completion of Coppicing at Lamperloons Coppice, Thornton Woods

There will be a woodland management in Thornton Wood coppicing hazel stools in the Lamperloons Coppice area and clearing the overhanging growth to allow light in. It is a great chance to make progress in the coppice areas in Thornton Wood.  Coppiced material will be transported to New Ferry Butterfly Park at the end of the session.

Remember to bring refreshments and a packed lunch.  Please wear footwear and clothing suitable for outdoor working in changeable weather conditions.  For novices attending, tools and appropriate PPE will be provided.

The meeting place for this event is not accurately shown on the map below.  Meet on Thornton Common Road on the bridge which crosses the M53.  Meet at 09:15 to move to the woods at 09:30
