Hedgelaying at River Park

We have been invited to start some hedgelaying at Port Sunlight River Park.  

Port Sunlight River Park is a former Biffa landfill site.  

At the end of the landfill operating cycle in 2006, with funding and widespread community support, the process began to turn this 28-hectare site into a public open space for people to enjoy the great outdoors.  Port Sunlight River Park opened in 2014, and has since become a special place for the community, with panoramic views over the River Mersey and iconic Liverpool waterfront.

The hedge is along one of the footpaths to the north of the park.  There is a café on site, about 1/4 mile from the hedge site.  Meet in the car park at the end of Dock Road North.

Please wear clothing and footwear appropriate for changeable October weather conditions.

For novice hedgelayers joining us, tools and PPE (safety glasses and gloves) will be provided, along with great tuition.

Remember to bring refreshments with you and a packed lunch if you don't fancy the walk to the café.
