Practical Tree Care Session: Mersey & Victoria Parks

Join Wirral’s Tree Officers for a practical tree care session at Mersey Park and Victoria Park, helping to give some of our local trees a little extra care and attention.

During the session, we’ll be edging around tree bases and applying mulch, helping to improve growing conditions for the trees and keep the areas around them well maintained. Wirral’s Tree Officers will be on hand to explain why mulching and good management around the base of a tree are important, as well as demonstrating the techniques we use.

No previous experience is needed. This is a great opportunity to get outdoors, lend a hand in your local parks, learn more about practical tree care, and make a visible difference to your local green spaces.

Please note:

• This is a practical, hands-on outdoor activity, so please wear sturdy footwear and clothing suitable for the weather and for getting a little muddy.
• Tools and guidance will be provided.
• Please bring gardening gloves if you have them.
• The activity will take place across Mersey Park and Victoria Park.

Meeting Point: Victoria Park 10am outside the park depot next to the Community Garden at ///lace.letter.riders
