Christmas Drinks with Helen Whately MP

We are delighted to welcome Helen Whately, Member of Parliament for Faversham and Mid Kent and also Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, to the Witney Conservatives Christmas Drinks event. 

This event is taking place at the Witney Blanket Hall and will be another great opportunity for members, supporters, and councillors to come together for the festive period and to celebrate another great year for the association. 

Friends and family are welcome and tickets are only £15 per person. 

About Helen Whately MP 

Helen is the Conservative Member of Parliament for Faversham and Mid Kent and currently serves as the Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.

Helen was first elected to Parliament in 2015 and has since held a number of senior positions in both Government and Opposition. She served twice as Minister of State for Social Care, including from 2022 to 2024, and has also served as Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury and Minister for Arts, Heritage and Tourism. Following the 2024 General Election, Helen was appointed Shadow Secretary of State for Transport, before moving to her current role as Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary in November 2024.

Before entering Parliament, Helen worked as a management consultant and also worked within the NHS. During her time in Parliament, she has developed particular experience across health and social care, public finances, transport and welfare reform.

As Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary, Helen is leading the Conservative Party's work on welfare reform, with a particular focus on helping more people back into employment and ensuring the welfare system remains sustainable for the future.
