Private Beekeeping Taster Day for Broadland Housing Challenge & Change
Need help?
Have you ever wondered what it looks like inside a hive? Thinking about taking your first step into beekeeping but want to see what is involved ?
We offer a two hour ‘Taster Session’ that will give the participant an insight into the world of the honey bee and beekeeping. You will be able to find out about the honey bee lifecycle and how bees are looked after during an introductory talk. Then you will put on a beekeeping suit and look into a live hive and watch the honey bees at work, accompanied by one of our experienced volunteer beekeepers who will explain what is happening.
Beesuits are provided but you will need to bring your own wellington boots and rubber gloves (either marigold-style washing up gloves or thin nitrile gloves).
You will also need to agree to the disclaimer statement below and let us know about any allergies and provide an emergency contact number (these will be requested on the booking form).
We look forward to introducing you to the wonderful world of bees !
