Get into musical improv!
A course for those who have successfully completed Phil Lunn's taster day and/or who are at least level 3 improvisers with proven musical ability.
Improvising songs is a great addition to your games and scenes. Even if you don't want to improvise an actual musical, it's a great skill for all improvisers to have. This is an entry level course, which will teach the basics of improvised singing:
- what songs are for, and how to get one started
- basic song structure
- finding a focus
- working with others to create songs together
- creating scenes and stories with songs
There will be a show on the final evening, so the last night will run from the slightly earlier time of 7pm, until the usual end point of 9:30pm.
Please note, having a sense of rhythm and being a capable singer is a requirement for this course. To apply to join, please first record yourself clapping along to all five levels of this beginners' rhythm test https://amycaseymusic.co.uk/rhythm-clap-along-for-beginners/ and singing along to Happy Birthday here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Z5o_ejpMOk All recordings will be immediately destroyed after review by Phil Lunn.
Also, you are very welcome to sing in character if you feel more comfortable doing so. And please be reassured... You absolutely do not need to be a great singer to join us, but you do need a good sense of rhythm in order to be able to support your scene partners effectively. Thanks for your understanding as we attempt to make this course as beneficial and enjoyable as possible for all participants. Any questions, fire me a text. Successful applicants will be sent a code with which to buy a ticket. Many thanks! Love Pip x
