Denim 101
The spinning of cotton into yarn; the dyeing of yarn with indigo, and the weaving of yarn into the final product. All of these steps occurred at White Oak during its years of operation from 1905 until 2017. W.O.L.F. is ensuring those skills are still taught in the United States — and at the source. White Oak Legacy Foundation is organizing world-class instruction with industry experts in all areas of denim production (yarn, weaving, dyeing & finishing), as well as on-site visits to Hill Spinning in Thomasville, a ring spinning mill located just a short ride from Greensboro, and also to Proximity Manufacturing Company, weaving shuttle denim inside the White Oak Plant, and to Origin USA, for denim apparel manufacturing and garment finishing in Asheboro. Tuesday evening there is a social event for the program, held at Revolution Mill, with a keynote speaker, beverage and appetizers.
Once the fee is paid, there are no refunds, but substitutions are allowed for that class. There will be no rain checks offered for a future class.
