Silent Barriers, Lasting Impact

Tackling Microaggressions & Amplifying Your Leadership in Sustainability

Microaggressions may seem small, but their effects can be profound. From the boardroom to stakeholder meetings, these subtle slights create silent barriers that undermine women’s leadership, energy, and influence in sustainability.

This session equips you with the awareness and tools to identify, respond to, and rise above these challenges so that your focus remains on creating lasting impact where it matters most.

You will leave this session with renewed self-awareness and a practical toolkit to support you in leading change with resilience and authority.

What you'll learn:

In this masterclass, you’ll discover:

  • How microaggressions show up in sustainability contexts, from board conversations to external partnerships.

  • The lasting impact they can have on confidence, credibility, and effectiveness as a leader.

  • Practical, empowering strategies to respond with clarity and confidence while safeguarding your energy.

  • Tools to strengthen your leadership voice, enabling you to amplify your impact and thrive in your role.

Who is this for?

This masterclass is for women working in sustainability (whether you’re early in your career or already in a leadership role) who want to:

  • Recognise and address the subtle barriers that can hold them back.

  • Build resilience and confidence in challenging workplace dynamics.

  • Expand their leadership influence while protecting their energy.

If you’ve ever felt undermined, dismissed, or overlooked in your sustainability work, this series will help you transform those experiences into fuel for your growth and impact.

About the Rooted to Rising Masterclass Series:

As women in sustainability, we often carry both the weight of the work and the invisible barriers that slow our progress.

Beyond the external challenges of entrenched systems, legislation, and resistance to change, we can also face subtle daily experiences that chip away at confidence, credibility, and leadership presence.

Rooted to Rising is a three-part masterclass series designed to help you navigate these realities and step fully into your power as a sustainability leader. Across the series, you’ll move from recognising external barriers, to embracing your authentic identity, to breaking free of self-limiting beliefs. Each session builds on the last, supporting you to stay rooted in self-awareness while rising with confidence and impact.
