AI for people who don't like AI: How to use today's AI tools without sacrificing your voice and values

About this workshop

Stuck in the AI Catch-22? You want to stay competitive and make use of the latest tools, but you can’t ignore the ethical issues either. The way the models are trained, the biases, environmental impact and de-skilling. You’re damned if you do, and damned if you don’t.

In this practical and thought-provoking session, Kerry will show you how to use AI to support your work and business without sacrificing your voice or your values. She’ll tackle the hard questions other AI trainers tend to avoid, and share realistic ways to approach AI with curiosity, responsibility, and integrity.

You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of how to navigate this new landscape with confidence, setting your own boundaries and using AI as a tool for good without threats to your ethics or expertise.

What you’ll learn

In this workshop, you will:

  • Cut through the hype by exploring today’s key AI tools and how they actually work, so you can separate fact from marketing magic.

  • Take an honest look at the core issues with generative AI, including bias, data privacy, misinformation, and anthropomorphism, with resources to go deeper.

  • Understand the real environmental impact of AI, using up-to-date research to see where the biggest challenges lie and what can be done to mitigate them.

  • Learn practical prompting techniques, including Kerry’s AI Sandwich method, to get valuable results from AI tools more efficiently and ethically.

  • Start shaping an AI policy or manifesto for your business to ensure transparency, accountability, and aligned values when using AI.

Who is this for?

This workshop is for sustainability professionals, business owners, and purpose-driven leaders who want to engage with AI responsibly, balancing innovation with ethics. If you’ve been hesitant about using AI because of its social and environmental costs, or you want to lead the conversation on how to use these tools with integrity, this session will give you clarity, confidence, and a practical way forward.
