WINS is pleased to present the next event in the Sustainable Living Series for May 2025: an evening wine tasting at London Cru, our urban winery in London that exclusively stocks English wines.  Wine educator Beth Brickenden will discuss what sustainability looks like in UK winemaking as we go on a walking tour of the London Cru facilities, where wine is also made onsite with English grapes.

About Beth:

With over a decade of experience at the forefront of London’s food and wine scene from sustainably focused pop-up wine bars to Michelin chef collaborations focusing on organic & biodynamic wines, Beth has a wealth of experience and passion for wine education. Named one of the Top Most Influential People in Wine 2024, Beth works across media, writing, brand development, and immersive events to connect people to wine in memorable ways. Beth has written for The Independent with a focus on accessibility, quality and sustainability. She currently runs the events and education side of the UK's first urban winery, London Cru. Her mission is to remove the proverbial white tablecloth from wine, replacing it with inclusive, creative experiences that resonate with today’s drinkers.

About London CRU:

London Cru winery is tucked away down a little alleyway in SW6 and is based in an old Victorian warehouse which was once a gin distillery. Whilst the surroundings are historic, innovation is at the core, from precision temperature-controlled tanks and state-of-the-art winemaking facilities, they use concrete tanks, stainless tanks, French oak barrels and modern eggs.Cliff Roberson is the founder and brings with him a 60-year history of selling wine in London. There is little in the wine industry Cliff hasn’t done and in addition to London Cru Cliff still owns and manages Roberson Wine who imports and sells wines from all over the world.

Since London Cru launched, many of the London Cru wines have won prestigious WineGB and IWC awards and are listed in numerous Michelin-star restaurants in London and beyond.Cliff and London Cru have proudly been working with the Woodland Trust to plant more trees. Let’s talk wine & sustainability!
