An inaugural event for the London Climate Sisters programme showcasing the amazing work of the women who have successfully completed Wen's Climate Sisters Leadership programme*.
Climate Sisters: Local Women of the World at the Climate Table Exhibition
Join the Climate Sisters to explore what it means to see and hear a diversity of voices in climate discussions. Find out how the climate crisis intersects with our daily lives, cultural heritage and diasporic histories and how the climate crisis is a global and political issue rooted in capitalism, colonialism and patriarchy.
We will hear from women from East London Mosque and Leaders in Community, with knowledge and voices shared from around the world, including Pakistan, Eritrea, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Thailand and here in London!
What to expect:
Drinks Reception & Climate Sisters exhibitions (6-7pm)
The evening will start with a drink's reception and delicious canapes (plant-based). You can soak up knowledge from around the world as you meander through the Climate Sisters exhibitions and the Barbican's conservatory, a hidden tropical oasis in the heart of the city.
Food and Discussions (7-9pm)
We will move into the Garden Room to enjoy a glorious meal and dessert (plant-based) alongside some short film-screenings and informal discussions on each table hosted by your very own Climate Sister.
