Climate Siblings + Sisters Showcase

Mon 23 Mar 2026 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM Barbican Centre, Silk Street, London, EC2Y 8DS

Join us for a vibrant evening celebrating the Climate Siblings and Sisters, bringing together food, art, culture and powerful conversation.

This is the third event in our series, bringing together the Climate Siblings of The Love Tank and the Climate Sisters of ALAS, Women’s Inclusive Team , and Akwaaba. We’re gathering to share food, culture, and a powerful look at what it really means to centre global majority voices in the climate movement. Knowledge and perspectives will be shared from across the world, including Algeria, Nigeria, Somaliland, Bangladesh, Sudan, Turkey, Pakistan, Malaysia, Somalia, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia and here in London.

Through film, sound, and physical installations, we’ll explore how the climate crisis shapes our everyday lives and our histories. You’ll see work that touches on everything from textile and fashion legacies to Black queer perspectives on justice, and the raw impact of migration policies and global systems on our land and our health.

Expect a space that honours the reality of our diasporic histories while celebrating resilience through imagination.

We’ll also have a live Burumba dance, poetry, and shared dialogue to bring these impactful stories to life!

What to expect

Drinks Reception and Climate Sisters Exhibitions 6 to 7pm
The evening begins with a drinks reception. Take your time moving through the Climate Sisters exhibitions and exploring the Barbican Conservatory, a hidden tropical oasis in the heart of the city, while soaking up stories and insights from around the world.

Food and Discussions 7 to 9pm
We will then gather in the Garden Room for a beautiful plant based meal and dessert, alongside short film screenings. Each table will be hosted by a Climate Sister, creating space for open, informal discussions and meaningful exchange.

*The Climate Sisters Leadership Programme explores feminist leadership, the intersections of climate, racial and gender justice, confidence building, the causes and impacts of climate change, and how it connects with everyday life. The programme creates space for shared learning and dialogue, valuing lived experience and ensuring participants are supported and resourced for their time.

Come and celebrate creativity, connection and collective action for climate justice.
