Women's History Scotland November Social - Guest Speaker Rebecca Williamson

We are delighted to invite Women's History Scotland members to our online socials. These socials are a fantastic way to connect with others in a relaxed environment. All members, both new and returning, are very welcome.

Steering committee member Rebecca Williamson (PhD Researcher at the University of Glasgow) will be speaking about her doctoral research tackling the legal regulation of abortion in mid-nineteenth century Scotland. Her talk will address two distinct but interrelated 1858 trials concerning abortion, tracing the development of legal arguments as well as providing a detailed microhistorical insight into the lives of women who appeared before the courts.
