As the utilities industry begins to emerge from the unprecedented challenge of COVID-19, join us at a virtual event on lessons learnt from lockdown. This is an exclusive collaborative event between WUN and our partner, Energy Assets, a leading independent metering services, asset management and adoption services & utility network construction company. This unique event is designed to help explore, capture and integrate the lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As we transition to the next phase of ‘easedown’ – the easing of lockdown - with COVID-19 control measures being relaxed, it is critical to take stock of the past few months to understand the lockdown lessons. Due to the nature of the utilities sector, many employers and employees were thrust into homeworking, utilising new technology and styles of working and communicating. This brings many advantages as well as disadvantages when considering healthy ways of working which are sustainable to meet business objectives. A major factor influencing the response to the pandemic remains as resilience. This is a key coping strategy during any crisis to ensure organisations are better able to handle such adversity and rebuild for the future.

We will look at the prioritise of COVID-19, response mechanisms and debate the opportunities as well as risks. Future policies, guidelines, communication, Health and Wellbeing, safety, and leadership styles will be covered in this virtual event. To do so we will take a walk back through Lockdown to reflect on what has and hasn’t worked for employers and employees sharing insights, learnings and challenges.

We have teamed up with experts in the fields of legal law from Dentons , Alison Weatherhead leads Dentons' People, Reward and Mobility practice in Scotland.· Alison will discuss the ongoing challenges as businesses move beyond furlough and quality issues in the "new dynamic"

Dr Linda Bell Director & Consultant Occupational Health Physician Business Medical Limited. Dr Bell will discuss How Covid has impacted health and Wellbeing -A time to reflect, take stock and accept our new normal, What has already changed and what may still change going forward and Accept and be aware of the impact this experience has had on us personally and in our careers,

Companies across Great Britain and around the world have had to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak with limited information and confronting many uncertainties. Our ability to be agile and adaptive has been stressed, from policy measures, safety measures, decision centralisation yet autonomy of decisions, remote connectivity, digital resources, mental health and the balance between change and stability.

As the dust begins, only begins, to settle and remobilisation begins to scale up to our ‘new reality’, we have a moment to reflect on the short term – what has COVID-19 taught us – to apply to our long term thinking. Often some situations are best understood backwards. Through retrospection, we can look back to understand, learn lessons, reflect and re prioritise should go some way to facing our future positively. And as we have learnt, one size does not fit all!
