Making Art Work: Critical Skills for Creative Entrepreneurship

Got a side hustle? Freelance biz? Dream of turning your creativity into more than just a hobby?

Join us at WonderStump for a free, three-part workshop series designed for Sonoma County artists and creative entrepreneurs who want practical tools to strengthen their creative businesses.

We'll explore how to price your work sustainably, identify income opportunities, connect with your audience, and plan professional creative projects. Expect real-world examples, guided exercises, useful resources, and plenty of opportunities to think through how these tools apply to your creative practice.

Attend the full series or join us for an individual session. We encourage participating in all three workshops for the fullest experience, but individual-session registration is welcome as space allows. Space is limited; please register for each session you plan to attend.

January 5 | Pricing Creative Work & Understanding the Numbers
What does it really cost to make your work? Learn to account for materials, time, labor, expenses, and overhead when pricing your products, commissions, services, and projects. We'll also cover practical payment essentials, including deposits, invoicing, payment terms, and processing fees.

January 12 | Building Revenue & Reaching Your Audience
Explore ways to diversify your income, evaluate opportunities, and find revenue streams that fit your work and goals. Identify the people most likely to connect with or support your work, communicate its value, and develop practical strategies for reaching your audience.

January 19 | Turning Creative Ideas into Professional Projects
Take a creative idea from inspiration to implementation. Learn to define project scope, build a budget, create a timeline, and identify the resources and collaborators you'll need. We'll also cover professional essentials such as contracts, insurance, accessibility, and clear payment and participation terms.
