Kinsfolk Social - Bank Holiday Weekend
Fri 5 May 2023 6:00 PM - Mon 8 May 2023 12:00 PM
Lockerbrook Farm Centre, S33 0BJ
Description
This event is aimed at adults and DFs in Woodcraft to get together and see each other again. It will be a casual program without rigid planned activities, allowing people to spend time catching up with friends and enjoying the countryside. I can't think of a better way to escape the royal pomp and ceremony than spending the weekend with some great people
Lockerbrook Farm Centre is a Woodcraft Folk-owned outdoor education centre and hostel located in the beautiful Peak District National Park in the Midlands. The centre is situated on a working hill farm, surrounded by stunning countryside and wildlife, making it the perfect destination for people seeking an immersive outdoor experience in a picturesque setting
We're going all out with the food, with three Bowlers cooking
how could we not? Featuring a bread-making workshop and
a Sunday roast, you've never eaten so well at a Woodcraft event!
Activities might also include:
Walks - Lockerbrook overlooks the ladybower reservoir and there are lots of different walks to explore
Games - We will probably do some silly games and I’m sure people will bring lots of board game
A Relaxed Space - A comfortable, cosy place to sit and chat to friends
Campfires - Lots of campfires with singing, chatting, storytelling and staring into the embers
Big camp networking - these events are always a great place to discuss and plan upcoming big camps and maybe recruit some volunteers
Spontaneous activities that you wonderful people decide would be fun
FAQs
Can I bring children?
The event is aimed for adults but family units are welcome. While there will not be an explicit programme for children there will be lots of people who are big children at heart
Do I need an up to date Woodcraft membership?
It is an unofficial Kinsfolk camp so you don't need a membership. It is always appreciated if you sign up as a member as that helps Woodcraft out and makes it easier for you to take part in other Woodcraft things. You do not need a DBS as you are a camp participant not in a position of responsibility
How do I get there?
I imagine many will drive as it is hard to get to the centre by public transport, but Bamford station is a 20 minute drive away. I will arrange a volunteer shuttle service from the station so volunteers for that are gratefully appreciated
Can I help/I have a question you haven't answered here:
Yes, help gratefully received and happy to answer your questions! Get in touch with Joe on Joejbowler@gmail.com
