Vets Fest 25 [82025EV2]

Welcome to Vets Fest!

Vets Fest is Wooden Spoon's unmissable rugby event for veteran players aged 35 and over. Join us for a day of thrilling rugby action and camaraderie, all while raising funds to support disabled and disadvantaged children and young people.

Players

• Age Requirement: 35 and over (we also aim introduce an over 50s category and a Mixed Walking Rugby category) 
• Make Up: Teams will be made up from players from community rugby clubs from across the UK, Ireland and beyond.
• Teams: All teams will be 15-a-side and will represent a Wooden Spoon Region. 
• Combination Teams: If your region cannot muster sufficient players by mid May, we will combine regions to form "barbarian style" teams.
• Sign Up: Click the blue button to sign up. Enter the case-sensitive access code provided by your Regional Team Captain.
  
• NEW: Vintage Vets (Men & Women over50),  Mixed Walking Rugby: first sign up for a team, then select the option to play either Walking Rugby or (if you qualify) Vintage Vets.
• Sign up deadline: You MUST sign up before 0900 on Monday 2nd June.

Match Officials

• Welcome: We are seeking experienced referees to volunteer as match officials on the day.

• Match Official/Referee Sign Up: Available with a case sensitive access code provided by Mark Challis.

Important Notes

• Player Sign Up: Non-transferable. If you cannot attend, your playing shirt will be posted to you after Vets Fest.
• Refund Policy: No refunds once playing shirts are ordered (on Tuesday 2nd June). Before that date a partial refund may be available.
• Hardship Fund: Please contribute to the Vets Fest Hardship Fund during sign up. This fund helps dedicated players who lack the necessary funds to take part in the Wooden Spoon vets rugby programme. The suggested contribution is £5 and is voluntary but greatly appreciated.
• Merchandise: Wooden Spoon playing shorts (in 5 colours with pockets) and playing socks can be purchased as part of the sign-up process.
