About the Open Morning
Come and visit our historic workshop in Aberfeldy.
We have a small team of dedicated and highly skilled craftsmen. Our traditional workshop has been used continuously for woodwork since 1886.
Our specialist technique of steam-bending combined with traditional cabinet making techniques allows us to create exceptional curvaceous furniture for homes, gardens and public places.
Visitors will be able to come into the workshop to look around and see work in progress.
Please note that this is an historic building with uneven floors, steep stairs and dust. The workshop is small and has two floors. If the workshop is busy, visitors may be asked to wait or come back, to make sure we can maintain safety in the workshop and allow everyone space to move around.
About the Guided Afternoon Workshop Tour plus Woodland Walk
After tour of the workshop (up to one hour) we will drive in convoy to Old Castle Wood. It's peak bluebell time so there will be a beautiful carpet of flowers.
Details
The wood is 15 minutes drive from the workshop. The approach to the woodland is a rough track that leads into the wood. We need to limit the cars to a maximum of five cars, so participants will need to car share on the day.
We'll then have a guided walk in the wood, lasting approximately 90 minutes. Angus Ross sources timber for his furniture-making from this woodland.
For ease of moving around the site, the group will be divided into two groups of ten.
Participants need to be able to walk for up to 90 minutes on a path, with uneven ground and slopes.
If you have a mobility issue, please contact us in advance to talk about possible arrangements.
