Join us for an open workshop hosted by Goldfinger & Another Country's Make Good Academy, based within Morley College.

This special Open Woods & Workshops event offers a behind-the-scenes look at our Future Makers traineeship — a hands-on programme supporting young people from underrepresented backgrounds into careers across the creative, craft, built environment and green sectors.
Visitors will take part in a guided tour of the college workshop facilities, see live woodworking demonstrations, and hear how we teach practical furniture-making skills using responsibly sourced timber. We’ll share how our woodland → workshop → work pathway connects sustainable forestry, craft training and real progression routes into employment.

You’ll learn how understanding where timber comes from, designing for longevity and respecting materials sits alongside employability skills, mentoring and industry exposure — creating positive outcomes for both people and the planet.
This is a chance to meet the team, hear from trainees, and experience how education, craft and environmental responsibility come together in a real training environment.

About the Academy
The Make Good Academy is the social impact arm of Goldfinger and Another Country.
We deliver structured pathways into employment by combining hands-on making, environmental education and industry access — supporting young people who are currently underrepresented and facing barriers in these sectors.
