Join us for a day at Hooke Park campus and buildings

Hooke Park is the woodland campus of the Architectural Association School of Architecture, and home to the AA's postgraduate Design and Make programme, where full-scale building experiments and hands-on architectural education meet.

The day is a chance to explore our campus buildings and woodland to learn more about our history, as well as our ongoing teaching and research.

Hooke Park is a forest laboratory for architectural experimentation at 1:1 using timber grown on-site. It is the satellite campus of the Architectural Association (AA) - a celebrated independent School of Architecture based in Central London.

The 350-acre working woodland at Hooke Park is owned and managed by the AA and provides the primary source of timber for our construction projects, which are fabricated on-site in our workshops and assembly spaces. We have a commitment to the future ecological health of the Hooke Park Woodland and have put in place a 100-year strategy for its management as part of our innovative forest research programme.

The campus is home to the Design + Make Architecture programme and hosts visiting groups of students from our London campus as well as university groups internationally. Design, construction and landscape-focused projects undertaken at Hooke Park are supported by a diverse team of expert practitioners, including architects, engineers, digital technicians, carpenters, artists, foresters and researchers.

We operate at the intersection of craft knowledge, technological innovation and natural material. Underlying these activities is the opportunity to develop new architectures and an ethos of material self-sufficiency that emerges from creative ingenuity and experimentation.
