Join us for a Woodland Creation Walk
Join the National Trust countryside team and a woodland tenant to look at two ambitious woodland creation sites at Wallington in Northumberland. The walk begins at Newbiggen Woodland, 125ha wood planted in 2024 incorporating scrub, wet woodland, continuous cover forestry and wood pasture. Following the disused railway line we will walk along to Elf Hills, the next planned woodland creation site where we aim to open walks and cycle trails, restore nature and link up existing woodland pockets and veteran trees.
The circular route is approx. 4 miles, with some slopes and uneven ground.
Toilets available at the start/end point. Please bring a drink and snacks.
