Create faux cables without a cable needle! Vikkels are faux cable stitch patterns created from carefully placed stitched stitches used in Estonian knitting. They add a nice textured detail to any knit and are easy to do.

Students will learn:
• How to read vikkel pattern charts
• Placement of twisted stitches to create the faux cable
• How to knit twisted stitches or 1/1 cable stitches without a cable needle

SKILL LEVEL:

Intermediate
Students should be comfortable knitting in the round and reading from charts

MATERIALS:

4mm / US 6 needles for knitting small circumference (Double pointed needles or circular needles for magic loop)

Stitch markers

approx. 20g of DK weight yarn in a solid or semi-solid colour
